North Atlantic Regional schedule; Spring 9s return, celebrate

TROY — The Connie Mack North Atlantic Regional begins today in Troy with eight teams vying for a spot in the World Series in Farmington, N.M.

The tournament kicks off at 2:30 p.m. with the South Troy Dodgers 17-year-old team taking on the Long Island Titans at Geer Field, while the Connecticut Bombers take on the Northeast Mudhens at Knickbacker Park in Lansingburgh.

The second round of games kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with the South Troy Dodgers hosting the Brooklyn Youth Service at Geer Field and the Ontario Blue Jays playing against the Bonnie Cougars at Knickerbacker Park.

In other baseball news, Spring's 9-year-old American Amateur Baseball Congress World Series winning team returned to Troy on Monday and had a celebration Tuesday night.
Their season is far from over, however.
